Information Technology

Schools in SAU 41 promote the integration of digital tools that support classroom teaching, strengthen student learning, increase student engagement, and assist students’ development of digital literacy and digital citizenship capabilities.

Technology Use and Student Privacy

The SAU41 School District is committed to student privacy using best practices in our management of student information in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

The SAU41 School District will not share personally identifiable information with third party software providers unless there is a valid educational interest for students. The SAU41 School District has implemented a best practice protocol for reviewing new online resources for potential use within the District. Only online websites and tools that are deemed appropriate in meeting instructional goals, as well as adhere to legal requirements protecting student privacy and data will be approved for use by students. More information on this process can be found here. In some cases, parents may receive a separate permission request from a student’s teacher to use an approved online application or tool with their student.

CrowdFunding Disclaimer

It has recently come to our attention that a number of fundraising and “crowdfunding” websites (e.g., GoFundMe, DonorsChoose) have been created to raise money for schools, classrooms, extracurricular activities, and other school-related purposes. While we support any effort to give back to the school community and support our students, unfortunately, some of these webpages use the school districts’ name and mascot to, among other things, attempt to get users to make private donations.

If you have any questions about this notice or would like to make a donation to any of the School Districts and/or their programs, please do not hesitate to contact Kelly Seeley, Business Administrator, SAU 41 (central office for all Hollis and Brookline schools) at kelly.seeley@sau41.org or 603-324-5999.
